Architecture grounded in place, people and practice

I am an architect whose approach has been shaped by working across different geographical, cultural and social contexts. From community-led initiatives to complex urban developments, I have contributed to projects in South Africa, Palestine and Spain. Born in Cuba, and having also lived in Australia, the United States and Belgium, I have developed an understanding of architecture that extends beyond any single place or way of building.

These experiences have taught me to see architecture not as an isolated object, but as a social, environmental and technical practice one that must respond carefully to its context, available resources and the lives of the people it serves.

My work combines architectural design, sustainability, BIM coordination and direct engagement with construction. I am particularly drawn to hands-on and on-site work, where design decisions encounter materials, technical constraints and the realities of building. As a certified professional drone pilot, I also use aerial surveying and imagery to support site analysis, project documentation and visual communication.

In Barcelona, I have contributed to BIM design coordination for municipal projects. I also hold a Master’s degree from the University of Barcelona, focused on sustainability, bioclimatic design and environmental certification.

Alongside my architectural practice, I have served as an elected municipal councillor in Sant Lluís, Menorca. This experience deepened my understanding of urban planning as a public responsibility shaped by regulation and limited resources, but above all by the everyday needs of communities.

Together, these experiences inform an architectural practice that is technically rigorous, environmentally responsible and firmly grounded in place and public life.
